From the source... Xbox One S: Gears of War 4 Bundles

These are purrrttyyy... and as long as the games are there to enjoy them. Bring them on!
I love to see new consoles and I love it even more when they are accompanied by new games to be enjoyed on them. A healthy library of existing titles doesn't hurt either... but having something new is super fantastic in my opinion. Bundle releases are the smartest way to go when it comes to the release of a newer version of an existing console... but I look forward to the day that new consoles come with a title bundled with them also. One that really shows what the system can do and sets the pace for others (a stable game that doesn't require patches and all that stuff).

By the way... if you're wondering where we've been... we've been in a planning and prep phase, BUT... news continues to roll out. You will find more frequent news on our Twitter page and more off the cuff stuff on our Instagram.

From the Source: Stunlock Studios - Battlerite tops the charts

Hungry for more MOBA action?!

We didn't get the chance towards the end of last month to give props to Stunlock Studios... for topping the Steam Global Top Sellers chart's with Battlerite, but that gets a thumbs up. I have to follow up with a second thumbs up based on the studio providing us with a copy of the game to check out.

Check out the video below to get an idea of the action... before proceeding with some info and images from the source!

Stunlock Studio's Johan IIves gave us the scoop:

Battlerite, the new team arena brawler from indie developer Stunlock Studios, soars to the top of Steam’s Top Seller list with 96% positive user ratings!

Stunlock Studios, an enthusiastic team of indie developers working out of Skövde, Sweden, launched its new online team arena brawler, Battlerite, into Early Access on Steam this week. The team and co-investor, Coffee Stain Studios, are incredibly excited to share that Battlerite immediately soared to the top of the Steam Top Seller list. Initial reactions among players have been overwhelmingly positive and Battlerite currently holds an astounding 96% positive ratings on Steam as of the time of this writing.
“As a small indie development team trying to do our own thing in a genre dominated by some of the biggest games on the planet, seeing these first reactions from players is really amazing. It’s also incredibly humbling, and we’re all keenly aware of the responsibility we have to see the game through Early Access and into full launch and truly make it the best game it can possibly be.” says Peter Ilves, Game Director at Stunlock Studios.
Battlerite is the spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed Bloodline Champions, the 2011 PC game also developed by Stunlock Studios. In Battlerite you engage in quick and intense online action by taking control of one of several unique champions. The game is played out in adrenaline-fueled 2v2 and 3v3 battles, and while it can certainly be easy to get into, Battlerite is a game that is challenging yet very rewarding to master.

The characters revealed in September (2016)...

I don't know how much VR will really change or immerse the level of gameplay depth in a MOBA, but... I wouldn't underestimate or hate on such an option for owners of the hardware. Game on!

I hope all the gamers (and non-gamers) out there are safe and sound. Our condolences to the citizens of Haiti and other locations that have lost people due to the recent Hurricane Matthew. We had the luxury of getting the hell out of here, but not everyone was so lucky and... I can't begin to say how sorry I am for the victims and their family members. Though it won't change what has occurred, I hope that peace is with you, in addition to good fortune in the road ahead. -Blu

Nintendo News: Nintendo Download Highlights New Digital Content for Nintendo Systems

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- This week’s Nintendo Download includes the following featured content:

Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse – The Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse game is now available exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS system. The protagonist is a novice demon hunter in the ruins of Tokyo who meets an untimely end, only to find himself returned to the world of the living by the lesser god Dagda to serve as a pawn in his schemes … with humankind as the prize!
The Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse game is now available exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS system (Graphic: Business Wire)

Nintendo eShop on Wii U

Severed – Take control of a one-armed warrior named Sasha who wields a living sword on her journey through a nightmare world in search of her family. Features include Wii U Off-TV Play, in-game achievements and HD graphical optimizations. Buy the Wii U version of Severed and receive a free download code for the Nintendo 3DS version upon release. This game is part of the #Nindies Summer Jam promotion, with a special introductory price through 8:59 a.m. PT on Sept. 29.

  • Wii Retail on Wii U
    • Donkey Kong Country Returns – Donkey Kong Island has been taken over by the musical Tiki Tak Tribe! In this Wii platforming classic, jump, swing and blast your way through more than 65 levels spanning eight worlds. There are many hidden items to uncover in each level, and collecting them all will unlock something special. Invite a friend to take control of Diddy Kong for two-player cooperative play (additional accessories required for multiplayer mode; sold separately).
  • Virtual Console on Nintendo 3DS
    • Final Fight 2 – In the second chapter of the beat-’em-up Super NES classic, the Final Fight 2 game will take Haggar back to the streets of Metro City. Accompanied by Maki and Carlos, he will travel across the world and fight to end Mad Gear Gang’s reign once and for all…
    • Final Fight 3 – In the third chapter of the Super NES Final Fight series, a new enemy has arisen by the name of Skull Cross. Join Haggar, Guy, Cody and Lucia as they battle it out on the streets of Metro City once more in what may be their actual final fight.

Can we get a Final Fight remake? Believe it or not there is enough history there to get a wonderfully sick Final Fight remake with a deep engaging story-line. A visually appealing 2.5D version would work (and the cut-scenes could be CG), and... (hmm) it could take us through the ups and downs that have occurred with the characters. If this inspires such a thing... I wouldn't want the game to contain "Classic controls" or give us the option to swap between the classic and more modern controls because stiff game-play wouldn't really work (for me).

PS4 Pro + Patche$ ? + Free PC Game + More!

The PS4... Pro, is (hmmm)... the system that should've been... beforehand (vs a system... revision). I bring this up due to the mentioning of the "PS4 Pro Launch Lineup" from developers... like its the PS5 or something. That totally sounds like i'm hating but... i'm not, its the revision of an existing console (which is great).

While some of you agree that the pro specs should've existed in the original and others... not so much, that isn't the only system revision to ever exist (by a long shot). Xbox One has a revision, the 3DS had a revision... and even systems of the past with power upgrades (in the form of add-on). There was going to be an SNES-CD (i'm glad there wasn't because we have the awesomeness that is the Playstation... but anyway), there was a SEGA CD... as well as a SEGA 32X, Atari Jaguar CD and... the list goes on (i.e. Gameboy Color).

The PS4 & Xbox One were rushed (and many others feel the same way), but the tech is coming in rapidly so they chose up on something that they weren't satisfied with to complete the first few laps... and its time to catch that second wind with the revised systems and take off to a new level (even though that level was expected from the start).

PS4 (Left) & PS4 Pro (Right)
They do have to be careful with that though... because paranoia is real too... and anyone that has been burned will remember that something was a little too hot for them to handle (i.e. spending money on something and then a better version pops up) and they may not be so open to picking that item back up again or... they may wait for the next gen console to be revised before making a purchase (which may affect sales the next go round). The PS4 isn't stripping the original PS4 owners of any games, which is a wise move (the same applies to the Xbox One from what we know)... unlike the New Nintendo 3DS games that can't be played on the older system (and there are many of us that aren't making that switch).

I will leave this topic alone by saying this... in the case of the PS4: It would've saved money in my opinion to just give the gamers the goods from the jump, but they may have missed the ship that led to them kicking butt in unit sales by waiting for the next available tech. It's hard to determine what way that would've went, but Microsoft wasn't even a problem at that time... competition wise... because they were still trying to pull the arrow out of their knee.

I feel that Microsoft is still at though. I feel that they've revised the BS so that its a bit more covert and its coming by way of Windows 10 in a way to possibly monopolize the PC gaming market. I hope that's just paranoia, but if they do... that would not be a move of a company that cares about gamers over... the control of the gamer's options. I don't think Tim Sweeney is talking out of his butt when it comes to sabotage... and there will be backlash that could affect their Microsoft in a massive way. Why?

There are kids that play the Xbox and PC Games, but there are a lot of adults that own Xbox consoles and PCs' that game heavy. The kids aren't the ones with the jobs usually and... if the buyers (more so than those simply labeled as gamers) walk away, so does the money. They'd better think about that and if anything... just leave that button alone.

+

I have to go in on SONY on another note (while still discussing the PS4 Pro... but on a different note), because there may be a charge for patches for previous games. My response to that possibility is that there better not be, because there is already a damn revision of the system, support of buying the revised console in addition to that, buying the initial games that usually come with patches as a norm... but talks of there being patches that come at an additional price? Hell to the no.

Some of you are familiar with EA's patches that increase the visual quality of some games (specifically in games like Battlefield 3). Those didn't come at an additional price, appreciate the money that's being received and do something that causes hesitation... because then that slows the momentum down if the buyer has to go back to the budget and consider what games to buy from their wishlist due to the additional costs. You see where i'm going with this? Leave that alone and just appreciate the support, the PS4 Pro would be purchased under the assumption that visual patches are free. If the developer wants to do so... that could be up to them and it could result in increased sales while the others that choose not to take that step, wouldn't be able to list that as something available in their title.

+

One of the games coming around the bend for the PS4 Pro is Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Square-Enix & Eidos Montreal announced that it will be available November 10th along side the pro. David Anfossi (Head of Studio at Eidos-Montreal) said...

“We are always working to push ourselves to the very limit in regards to the art direction of our games, and the PS4 Pro, along with the strong and ongoing collaboration between SIE and Eidos-Montréal, helps to further break down the barrier between our ambitious artistic vision and the end-result you see in-game.”

They list that the overall resolution is increased, aliasing is reduced, the reflective surfaces are improved and more detailed lighting effects are implemented without the frame rate or the gaming experience being affected. I mention this not only because the game will be one of the games that will step up the visuals for the PS4, but... they don't mention anything about that coming at an additional cost (which is good). So fingers are crossed.

Nintendo Direct + Pax 2016 & More!

What is this? It's the starting point of something new.

Go ahead and jump right into this one and enjoy... (don't forget to grab some snacks)!

Nintendo has some games in this Nintendo 3DS Direct that I definitely want to get.
They need to start playing more and more hardball if they want to increase the revenue,
and if the recent experience is a wake up call more so than denial... that's a great thing.

PAX action anyone?

Call of Duty XP Global Briefing

From the outside looking in... ReCore looks like it has what it takes to be a strong action puzzle adventure with an approach that can be appreciated for being different enough. If the story is amazing, it stands to be a great base for future installments.

Bring on the... HORDE 3.0! (Gears of War 4)
